The New York Times Style Magazine’s first digital cover story, published on February 14th, features Hare Krishna devotees from ISKCON’s Radha-Krishna Temple chanting on the streets of London.

A bold fashion statement amidst familiar faces - The New York Times Style Magazine's first digital cover story features our monks chanting on the streets of London, and model Maisie Dunlop. The photograph is part of a series showcasing classic British fashion, paying homage to Savile Row.

Veganism has got to be the most hipster diet going. And since a plant-based diet is animal-friendly, nutritious and healthy, we can't really argue with it. With Veganuary firmly behind us, some might need new inspiration to keep their vegan spark alive. And old-school vegan veterans probably gave up trying to dine out long ago. So for those who need a little helping hand, here is a list of the best places to grab a vegan meal, whether it be a fine dining dinner or a bucket of popcorn 'chicken' on the go.

27 Things To Do In Soho

Soho is a brilliant part of the city, and a must for anyone visiting or living in the Capital. Bordering the areas of Leicester square and China Town, Soho is situated in the heart of London.

The devotees of ISKCON-London are known for their special yearly anniversary event festivities and this year was no exception with what can only be described as a spiritually uplifting theatre production that left the audience at the edge of their seats - entertained throughout.

London's Best Lasagne

London's a foodie city, no doubt about it. There are delicious fusions, imports and experimentations galore. But among the bubble waffles, avocado ice creams and Japa-zilian cuisine (we're looking at you, Sushi Samba), there are many restaurants still keeping the much-loved classics front and centre.

On the evening of 24th October, devotees from across London gathered at the Radha-Krishna Temple in Central London to celebrate Sharad Purnima, the beautiful full moon night of the autumn season. Sharad Purnima, which takes place on the eve of the month of Kartik, commemorates Lord Krishna performing a beautiful dance called "rasa lila" with His dear-most devotees, the gopis – the cowherd damsels of Vrindavana.

Sunday School for Children

Krishna Club London

In order to serve the needs of our growing community, we are excited to launch Krishna Club – a Sunday School for children aged between 5 to 14 years.

Starting on Sunday 6th January 2019, it will take place on Sundays from 3.30pm to 5.15pm.

Free taster sessions on Sunday 2nd, 9th and 16th December 2018.

OUR AIM

The aim of Krishna Club is to provide a balanced system of Krishna Conscious education and character-building in children from an early age. Children will learn and apply Vaishnava culture and philosophy according to the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The sessions will be exciting and hands-on, and will take place in a caring, nurturing and spiritual atmosphere.

By enrolling your child/children in Krishna Club, you will also be building a strong foundation for ISKCON’s devotional community to continue for generations to come.

“A child is a rare gift given by Krishna but at the same time a great responsibility – every parent has the responsibility to see that his child grows up Krishna Consciousness." - Srila Prabhupada

WHAT WILL CHILDREN DO?

At Krishna Club, children will:

  • Chant japa
  • Learn slokas from Bhagavad-Gita and other scriptures
  • Make beautiful arts and crafts
  • Read and bring-to-life stories from Ramayana, Mahabharata and Srimad-Bhagavatam
  • Participate in dramas
  • Sing bhajans
  • And many other fun-filled activities!

"One who is sufficiently intelligent should use the human form of body from the very beginning of life — in other words, from the tender age of childhood — to practice the activities of devotional service, giving up all other engagements. The human body is most rarely achieved, and although temporary like other bodies, it is meaningful because in human life one can perform devotional service. Even a slight amount of sincere devotional service can give one complete perfection." - Prahlada Maharaja, Srimad-Bhagavatam, 7.6.1

FACILITATORS

Each session will be facilitated by one of our volunteer teachers. They will be accompanied by at least one volunteer teaching assistant. Both our teachers and teaching assistants have undergone an interview process, have experience in working with children, and are DBS-checked.

REGISTRATION

All registrations are on a first-come first-served basis as we have limited spaces. By registering, you commit to your child/children attending Krishna Club on most weeks so that they fully benefit from the sessions.

Fees per child - £ 51.00
