Is it real? Is it prophesied? Are we to blame? And will the gods fix it? A rabbi, a reverend and a Rastafarian walk into a magazine to find out.

ISKCON-London’s Radha-Krishna Temple is celebrating the 50th installation anniversary of its presiding Deities Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara this year with a series of events and creative projects.

Yoga Magazine in the UK has published a ten-page feature article in its June issue, written by ISKCON devotees, on the life and spiritual legacy of ISKCON Founder-Acharya Srila Prabhupada.

The annual ISKCON-London Volunteers Dinner honours all the devotees who have offered service during the past 12 months. For 2019, being the Golden Anniversary, all devotees who had offered service to Sri-Sri Radha-Londonisvara over the last 50 years were invited. The assembled guests were therefore blessed with the association of many Srila Prabhupada disciples and senior sevaks.

On November 24th, the UK ISKCON devotees celebrated their 50th Anniversary in grandeur at the famous Apollo Theater in downtown London. The show brought together performing arts from East and West, theatrical acrobatics, live music and sacred song, immersive mantra choir experience, award-winning dance and incredible 3D visuals.

Fifty years ago, in 1969, three couples – Mukunda and Janaki, Gurudas and Yamuna, and Shyamasundara and Malati – were inspired by Srila Prabhupada to start the first ISKCON center in London.

Nothing could more illustrate the blossoming of ISKCON in the heart of the UK than the recent 50th anniversary festival to mark the installation by Srila Prabhupada of the Radha-Krishna Deities known as Sri Sri Radha-Londonisvara in central London, the Deities who also have a historical significance in that They are the first large Radha-Krishna Deities in ISKCON.

On September 15th, brahmacharis from the Radha Krishna Temple in London celebrated the 50th anniversary of ISKCON UK by recreating The Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album cover and sharing the photos throughout social media.

In 1944, on the auspicious appearance day of his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, Srila Prabhupada started the English magazine, Back to Godhead.

75 years later, and during the 50th Golden Anniversary year of the incorporation of ISKCON UK, it is a great honour that the unique story of ISKCON-London - the first ISKCON centre in the UK (opened in 1969) - is shared with the world in this international publication - a publication that Srila Prabhupada later referred to as the beginning of his spiritual life.

Srila Prabhupada considered London one of the most important cities in the world for spreading Krishna consciousness. This December marks fifty years since the opening of ISKCON's first temple in London and the installation of Sri Sri Radha-Londonishvara. London plays an important part in ISKCON’s incredible history.
