Home Deity Worship

Saturday, 11 April 2020

Learn the rituals for serving the divine form.

This course aims to give devotees an introduction to the knowledge, skills (practices of deity worship) and values of deity worship which will help them understand and develop an appreciation for the process of deity worship and assist them in carrying out home worship.

This Deity worship – this is training. The same thing will continue when you go to Vaikuntha or Vrndavana.” - Srila Prabhupada

Deity worship is a key means by which to develop a personal conception of the Lord and the mood of service. In the home, it can help to make the Lord the centre of the household and worshippers to purify their existence. Ultimately it is the training ground for the spiritual world, and thus a fundamental aspect of one’s development in Krishna consciousness.

This course is for all devotees, whether initiated or not, who are currently practicing deity worship at home, or who are new to deity worship, and want to know more about it.

What Will Be Covered:

  • Introduction to home rituals
  • Acamana and Cleanliness
  • Offering Arati
  • Setting up your home altar
  • Standards of worship
