The CDFU (Congregation Development and Follow Up) department of ISKCON London was created in January this year and, as the name suggests, our focus is to make this community an exciting place to be, for both our existing and new members.
We’re a dynamic team and we’re all about investing in people and finding out what makes them tick. We like to see the smile on their face when we get them involved in the wonderful activities that are meant for the pleasure of Krishna, otherwise known as devotional service
Congregation Development has grown significantly over the last few months, which means that new service opportunities are being constantly created. We also know that our community has no scarcity of capable individuals who are enthusiastic to serve. This is our humble attempt to match the two.
We are currently advertising for service opportunities in the following areas:
- Mailouts – this involves monthly BTG and Mahaprasadam mailouts to our members as well as festival mailouts.
- Follow-up callers – the follow-up team is headed up by Aditi mataji and we require devotees to make follow-up phone calls and engage in enlivening conversations with guests who may have visited us for the first time and filled out contact cards.
- Small group leaders – as the ISKCON London community grows, we need to be able to provide spiritual support and care to our new regulars. Devotees who have spent some time chanting 16 rounds and following the 4 regulative principles and who have a sufficiently good grasp of the philosophy are invited to put their names forward so we can connect new regulars with them. Small group leaders, being part of the follow-up team, work under the guidance of Aditi mataji.
- Guest greeting manager – Duties include: facilitating training programs, creating and maintaining the schedule, mentoring the guest greeters etc. We need a devotee who has been practicing seriously for some time, has some experience with preaching and possesses good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Guest greeters – to welcome and facilitate the experience of all visitors to our temple. They will be given adequate training and will be supported by the guest greeting manager.
- Volunteer care team leader – to manage a contact list of current volunteers and to engage and support them through regular cultivation.
- Membership care volunteers – reciprocating with our members and donors in various ways. Must be IT literate.
- Teachers/Trainers/Facilitators – Producing and updating course material, putting introductory courses together for new members.
