Interview with Navadvipa Prabhu Part 5
Murli Manohara Das: Any ideas for the future, how could we improve, or what would you like to see happen say the next say 5 or 10 years
I would say maintaining were we are would be very good. Recently they was a 24hr bhajan (Bhima Ekadasi) and I thought that was so good for the atmosphere in the temple. I was thinking if that could be done every Ekadasi that would be so beneficial for the temple and the congregation.
Maybe that can't be done but at least if every Ekadasi there is a concentrated effort on Kirtan. If it was advertised, done properly there is no reason why we could not get a packed temple room of congregation devotees for that particular Kirtan and I have to say that Radha Londonisvara Prabhu delt with it very well. Every time someone finished leading he would quote a nice verse about the Holy Name. So the mood of the Kirtan did not drop, because sometimes when the philosophy comes in, people like me who don't have such a head for the philosophy as such, we just want to chant the name. Lord Caitanya's method was maha prasadam and Kirtan for the mass and for a few was the philosophy on a very deep level, so more focus on the congregational chanting on the Ekadasi's, if possible every day.
Murli Manohara Das: Finally How is Lord Jagganatha, Lord Balaram and Subhadra Maharani.
Well they are definitely improving, the energy is getting more and more positive. For myself one of the things that this year I pratically noticed was that devotees, including from the congregation are going to the room were he is and sitting outside either offering prayers or chanting their jappa and its been very inspiring to see that, because it's not often that you see devotees manifest love and devotion in that way. Because my mentality may be 'who are you' thinking I am better. So to actually see the manifestation of their love and devotion by the fact that they have taken the trouble to go were they are and sit outside the door and chant jappa is very inspiring. It's made me see the congregation in a whole different light. It has also taught me that you really do not know who is who that comes here. You see members come and you just don't know, so I am going to deal with them a lot better than I have done in the past.
Also I am encouraging everyone to send cards to the deities, that's also very inspiring. Because when you see what is written on the cards it's actually very very uplifting, and people are writing more from the heart, which is something that I am happy to see because for a long time if you expressed certain types of sentiments it was seen as sentimentality almost separate from devotion, but now as the movement as evolved devotees are more inclined either you are a congregation devotee or a full on temple devotee, devotees are more inclined to show some sentiment, show some feeling, to show some sense of commitment in a loving way and that very nice to see.
Thankyou Navadvipa Prabhu
